Lauren and Michael’s late-afternoon engagement session at Waveny Park in New Canaan, Connecticut was pure magic from start to finish. Moreover, this historic 300-acre estate — with its sprawling great lawn, majestic old oak trees, and the elegant Tudor-style Waveny House — offers the perfect blend of open fields and timeless architecture. As the sun began to soften, we wandered beneath a grand old tree. We then settled onto a cozy picnic blanket and let the golden light do its thing. Lauren and Michael’s easy, playful connection made every frame effortless. Their tender foreheads-together moments and quiet laughter on a park bench were beautiful, as was that dreamy backlit walk through tall summer grass. Sessions like this are exactly why I love a natural, documentary approach. There are no stiff poses, just two people genuinely enjoying each other. Whether you’re planning a Fairfield County engagement or searching for the best documentary wedding photographer in NYC for candid moments, I’d love to tell your story. You can explore my portfolio.
