A Stylish Start in Long Island City
The day began in the heart of Long Island City, with Emily getting ready in a nearby loft filled with natural light, laughter, and anticipation. Her classic dress, elegant accessories, and soft makeup perfectly matched the timeless vibe of their wedding. Gavin, just a few blocks away, shared a toast with his groomsmen before suiting up in a sharp, tailored tux.
As a NYC wedding photographer, I always enjoy capturing the calm before the celebration. Their getting-ready moments were filled with sweet notes, happy tears, and quiet reflection.
First Look in a Hidden Garden
Emily and Gavin shared their first look in The Foundry’s lush courtyard. Surrounded by climbing ivy and brick walls, it was a private escape in the middle of the city. Their reactions were genuine, joyful, and incredibly moving—one of those moments that remind you why photography matters.
The Foundry, with its industrial wedding venue charm, creates endless opportunities for stunning portraits. We wandered through the garden, along the ivy-covered walls, and even into the greenhouse for romantic photos that feel like a movie scene.
Ceremony in the Courtyard
Their ceremony took place outdoors, with the skyline peeking through the surrounding architecture. Friends and family filled the courtyard as golden hour bathed everything in warm light. The vows were personal, emotional, and full of love.
The Foundry’s unique layout allowed for a seamless flow from the ceremony into cocktail hour, with guests enjoying signature drinks and incredible city views.
Reception Inside the Foundry’s Iconic Space
Inside, the reception space was transformed into a dream. Soft lighting, hanging greenery, and elegant floral centerpieces brought warmth to the exposed brick and steel beams. Emily and Gavin made a grand entrance, kicking off a night filled with joyful toasts, delicious food, and nonstop dancing.
Their first dance under twinkling lights was straight out of a fairytale. From the cake cutting to the packed dance floor, every moment was full of celebration and connection.
