The Manhattan skyline provided a breathtaking backdrop as Melanie and David celebrated their love at Battello in Jersey City. As a Jersey City wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect October day. Documenting their elegant waterfront celebration was a pleasure. Truly, it was an unforgettable Battello Jersey City wedding experience.
The day began at the DoubleTree by Hilton Jersey City, where Melanie and her bridesmaids prepared for the big day. Excitement filled the room as Melanie slipped into her stunning gown. Across the hall, David shared laughs with his groomsmen as they adjusted their ties. They also pinned their boutonnieres.
A Magical First Look at Liberty State Park
For their first look, we chose Liberty State Park with its unparalleled views of Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. When David turned to see his bride for the first time, his reaction was everything a photographer hopes to capture. It was pure emotion that speaks volumes without words. This is especially true on a special day like their Battello Jersey City wedding.
The fall foliage at the park provided a warm contrast to the cool blues of the Hudson River and sky. We spent time creating portraits that showcased the couple’s connection. These also featured the iconic New York City skyline which holds special meaning in their relationship.
Waterfront Battello Jersey City Wedding
Battello’s industrial-chic atmosphere, with its exposed beams and floor-to-ceiling windows, created the perfect setting for Melanie and David’s ceremony. As guests took their seats, they were treated to panoramic views of the Hudson River. The Manhattan skyline also impressed everyone.
The ceremony itself was intimate and heartfelt. Melanie and David exchanged vows they had written themselves. This brought many guests (and yes, even me behind the camera) to tears. The way they looked at each other during the ceremony told their entire love story. It covered their journey from their first meeting to this momentous day.
Celebration Into the Evening
Following cocktail hour on Battello’s waterfront patio, guests moved inside for a reception filled with laughter, touching speeches, and plenty of dancing. The venue’s remarkable lighting created a warm, inviting atmosphere. As day transitioned to evening, the Manhattan skyline transformed into a glittering backdrop of lights. It captured the essence of the Battello Jersey City wedding celebration.
One of my favorite moments to capture was their first dance. As the couple swayed to their chosen song, the city lights twinkled behind them. This was a perfect symbolism of their bright future together.

From the nervous anticipation before the ceremony to the joyful celebrations on the dance floor. These authentic interactions are what make each wedding unique.
